Dear Fourth Ward Resident,
I pray that you and your family are well. It has truly been an honor to have had the opportunity to serve you as your Councilman for the last three years. My heart has been completely committed toward being a strong catalyst for positive change in our community. One of my top priorities has always been to raise the standard of what it means to be a Councilman in our city. Four years ago, I was touched by your overwhelming support for my candidacy to represent you as the Councilman of the Fourth Ward. In this letter, I am humbly asking for your support once again. I am officially announcing that I am running for re-election on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. I would love to continue to build upon the strong foundation that we have established throughout these years. My commitment will always be to keep you informed on what is happening in our city and to make sure that your voice is heard as well as strengthened. In addition, I have always been determined to do everything in my power to improve your quality of life. I am simply here to serve you, your family and our community.
Due to the campaign season, we can all expect individuals to attack and distort the truth about me for their own personal gain. As much as those attacks are political attempts to derail me, I know that you have had the opportunity to know my heart, feel my strong convictions and see my work ethic. Their attacks will be words without substance. I wanted to also let you know that they might resort to a dirty campaign, but I have decided that I’m not going to play that game and I have chosen to take the high road and run a completely positive one. I will focus my campaign on highlighting the facts, our accomplishments and where we are heading. There are many powerful people in this city that would love to see me lose this election simply because I vote with your best interest in mind instead of doing what they would want me to do. Throughout these years, I have stood up for what was right even when I was standing alone. You have been and will always be my priority. Thank you again for given me the privilege of being your Councilman.
Here to Serve,
